We are seeking a skilled Site Manager to lead a fast-paced construction project in Barnes, managing groundworks, structural works, subcontractors, and direct labour. Initially for 6-7 months on this project but will be ongoing works across London long-term.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to ensure the successful delivery of our Barnes construction project. This role involves overseeing all on-site activities, coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with expertise in groundworks and structural works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations, including groundworks, structural works, and civil engineering tasks.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and direct labour to meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and secure site.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate site reports, schedules, and material requisitions.
  • Resolve on-site issues promptly to minimise delays and keep the project on track.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager in UK construction, with a focus on groundworks and structural works.
  • Valid certifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme), and First Aid at Work.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing subcontractors and direct labour.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage construction programmes.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
