Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Building and Fire Safety Project Manager to lead critical projects aimed at improving and maintaining building safety and fire risk compliance across a diverse property portfolio.

This hybrid role combines remote working with regular site inspections and hands-on project oversight. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all building safety activities align with current legislation, best practice, and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver building and fire safety projects from initiation to completion.

  • Ensure compliance with building, fire, and housing safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the building portfolio.

  • Manage safety inspections, remedial works, and documentation.

  • Maintain comprehensive project records and compliance documentation.

  • Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and safety specialists.

  • Serve as the primary contact for building and fire safety matters.

  • Oversee budgets, project timelines, and quality control.

  • Provide expert advice and regular updates to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications and Professional Memberships
  • Professional membership with a recognised body such as CIOB, IFE, RICS, or equivalent.

  • Degree or diploma in building safety, surveying, or risk management (desirable).

  • Ongoing CPD in fire and building safety disciplines.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Golden Thread requirements and building safety case reports.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Extensive experience in managing building and fire safety compliance projects.

  • Strong knowledge of current UK safety legislation and housing standards.

  • Proven ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Skilled in interpreting technical reports, fire strategies, and assessments.

  • Strong project planning, risk management, and coordination abilities.

  • High attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance.

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing internal teams and external partners.

  • Proficient in project management and compliance reporting systems.
