Internal Control Expert - AVP

Location: London/Hybrid
Contract Type: Temporary (until November 2025)
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm
Day Rate: 230 PAYE (Umbrella option available)


Are you an Internal Control Expert with a passion for ensuring robust financial frameworks? Our client, a leading financial institution headquartered in Japan, is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable AVP to join their dynamic team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and operate a comprehensive Internal Controls Framework for financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reports, executing adequate controls.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support financial reporting controls.
  • Coordinate SOX compliance, working closely with key stakeholders for seamless submissions.
  • Monitor outsourced services and service level agreements, ensuring KPIs are met.
  • Lead the production and presentation of the Control Dashboard, driving action for issue resolution.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by scanning for new rules, directives, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support to the Reporting Team during external audits related to internal controls.
  • Drive change through automation and business process enhancements.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience with internal control systems in financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of SOX or J-SOX is essential.
  • Audit background is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • An accounting qualification is a must.
  • IT affinity and a willingness to embrace new challenges.

Work Environment:

Enjoy a hybrid work model, with a minimum of 2-3 days in the London office.
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional out-of-hours requirements during busy periods.
