CDM / Principal Designer - London (Hybrid) - 60-£80k + Package 

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CDM / Principal Designer to join a leading architectural practice in London. This role is integral to ensuring health and safety is embedded into the design process from project inception.

The successful candidate will work closely with architects, engineers, and project teams, providing expert advice on CDM compliance and design risk management across a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects. This position requires strong client-facing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Principal Designer, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations
  • Provide expert advice on risk management and design safety
  • Engage with clients, project teams, and contractors to promote best practices
  • Prepare and maintain CDM documentation, including risk assessments and design reviews
  • Attend project and site meetings, offering health and safety leadership
  • Support the development of safe, compliant, and innovative design solutions

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Principal Designer / CDM role within the construction, architecture, or engineering sectors
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and design risk management
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team
  • Relevant qualifications, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, APS Membership, or equivalent
