Join a globally recognised marine insurer as a Credit Controller. This role is based in our London office, serving as a key hub for our international operations. Day-to-Day of the Role:

Credit Control Functions:

  • Develop and maintain first-class relationships with members and brokers.
  • Monitor member accounts to ensure timely payment of premium debit notes, flagging accounts as necessary.
  • Maintain effective communication with members and brokers regarding overdue payments, keeping relevant internal stakeholders informed.
  • Process premium receipts through the SAP Accounting system, ensuring accurate allocations and prompt payment of related brokerage commissions.
  • Manage members' cash accounts, ensuring timely and correct allocation of funds.
  • Provide advice and guidance on members' calls positions to adjusters.

Accounting Functions:

  • Maintain and post entries for Market Insurances and War Risks, including additional premiums.
  • Handle accounting entries related to Oil Pollution Surcharges.
  • Prepare accruals and prepayments, and manage company entertaining and travel expense analysis.
  • Update and prepare overhead budgets in collaboration with responsible staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team.
  • Effective self-management and goal achievement capabilities.
  • Problem-solving skills, particularly in complex reconciliations.
  • Previous experience in credit control, preferably within the insurance or marine sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with SAP or similar PC-based accounting systems.
  • Relevant post-GCSE qualification (A level, Diploma, AAT) is desirable but not essential for candidates with significant industry experience.
