Customer Assistant - Events

Adecco UK are currently seeking committed and Safety conscious staff to work at various Stations across the Central and Metro Regions in London. Our Events will be based at Wimbledon Station, South West London.

Adecco are recruiting on behalf of a train operating company in the heart of London with the potential to support local regions. The main tasks of the role are dealing with customers within a station during a high profile event.

Previous events that we have managed include Wimbledon Tennis, Hampton Court Flower Show, Vauxhall Cricket and various football games. You would be responsible for ensuring the safety of customers when entering and leaving the station by providing a high standard of customer care and support to colleagues. Full training is provided and fully paid.

You will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times. You must be flexible and available to work on a varied shift pattern which will include days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities on Event shifts will include but not limited to:

  • Provide a high standard of customer care
  • Greeting, assisting and directing people attending the event
  • Ensure the safety of customers when entering and leaving the establishment
  • Respond to incidents and provide professional & empathetic support to customers and colleagues
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills - face to face, radio and hands free microphones
  • Display exceptional time keeping, appearance and be able to go the extra mile
  • Crowd Safety - Dealing with varied customer flow & behaviour and spotting potential risks, pinch points, trespass
  • Presenting at all times, a smart, alert and visible security presence at the event venue
  • Carrying out pre and post event safety checks ensuring compliance with safe working procedures
  • Reporting any security incidents or concerns and dealing with emergency situations

You will work alongside Station staff to ensure the safety of passengers at all times passing through the Station and by assisting those passengers with any concerns or issues they may have.

Shift patterns are varied dependant on what the event is. Upcoming events to include Football Matches, Cricket Matches.

Support would be required across the following period:

June 30th to July 13th

Please note a zero-alcohol tolerance is to be adhered to working on the railway and candidates cannot turn up under the influence of alcohol.
