Data Governance Analyst I am recruiting for a financial services client who is looking to hire a Data Governance Analyst to join their data team. The primary objective of developing an understanding of business data that is processed and stored within information systems, introducing Data Governance and promoting best practices for Data Management.This individual will assist with the execution of data strategy, including the implementation of a data Catalogue and data Governance policy and procedures.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guidance and support of the creation of policy and procedures for data governance in a regulated environment.
  • Maintain the content of the Data Catalogue, including Business Glossary, Data Lineage and Data Governance.
  • Communicate with business stakeholders in relation to the objectives of the Data Strategy and the roles and responsibilities associated with Data Governance.
  • Support the Data Governance process, coordinating and running meetings and documenting outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support business processes and projects.
  • Remain abreast of advances in data-related technologies and techniques.
  • Report and investigate root cause of data-related issues.
  • Help define Data Quality methodology and standards for defining data.
  • Strong analytical skills, curiosity and attention to detail.
  • Experience of working with data catalogues and lineage tools is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modelling and database design is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience of working as a Business Analyst and/or Data Analyst in a financial or banking institution.

This is a permanent role based in London (office located in central London, easily commutable), offering hybrid working such as three days a week in the office and a few days from home per week. Salary on offer is £50,000 - £60,000 base plus other benefits such as private medical, discretionary bonus, pension etc.
