Are you a driven leader with a passion for mission-critical operations and a track record of success in managing complex facilities portfolios? We're looking for an Area General Manager (AGM) to take ownership of a strategically significant portfolio of Data Centre facilities across the UK.
As the AGM, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure world-class service delivery, and drive operational and commercial performance in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment. This is a pivotal leadership role offering the chance to make a tangible impact in one of the most essential infrastructure sectors in the world.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leadership & Strategy: Drive performance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction across your regional portfolio of data centre sites.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee service delivery, compliance, safety, and quality - ensuring facilities exceed contractual expectations.
- Financial Oversight: Manage P&L and budgets, control costs, and unlock commercial opportunities including contract growth and additional works.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships through regular reviews and transparent communication.
- Team Development: Lead, coach, and mentor site-based managers. Promote a culture of learning, succession planning, and continuous improvement.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure all operational, regulatory, and QHSE standards are rigorously applied.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside sales, finance, and operational leaders to drive portfolio development and client retention.
What We're Looking For:
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Data Centre operations or critical facilities management.
- Proven leadership of multi-site FM operations and complex teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L and operational budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and critical systems (DCIM/CMMS etc.).
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to travel across the UK portfolio and attend occasional out-of-hours meetings or events.
