What will you be doing?
- Design & Build: Architect and implement fully fault-tolerant and high-performance ClickHouse database environments.
- Performance Master: Dive deep into query optimisation and data modelling to unlock the full potential of ClickHouse.
- Guardian of Data: Develop and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshooter Extraordinaire: Be the go-to expert for ClickHouse-related incidents, managing production issues with precision.
- DevOps Integration: Work with Jenkins and Ansible to seamlessly integrate ClickHouse into our CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge Leader: Share your ClickHouse expertise and best practices across multiple development teams.
- Innovation Driver: Stay at the forefront of ClickHouse developments and potentially contribute to its evolution (C++ skills a major plus!).
- Security Champion: Ensure the integrity and security of our critical data assets.
- Monitor & Alert: Help establish advanced monitoring solutions using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
What you'll bring to the table:
- Expert-level knowledge of ClickHouse in a production environment (architecture, performance tuning, replication, setup).
- Proven ability to design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Deep experience in database performance optimization and data modelling (ideally data warehousing).
- Strong Unix/Linux system administration skills.
- Solid understanding of ClickHouse Keeper (or Zookeeper) and high availability principles.
- A proactive approach to data security.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins and Ansible.
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- C++ development skills for potential ClickHouse customisation.
- Familiarity with C#/.NET or Java, and SQL Server/TSQL.
