Cobalt is working with a leading real estate investor and operator to recruit a General Manager for a high-profile, landmark commercial property in the City of London.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a building with a prominent address, exceptional occupiers, and a commitment to sustainability, community, and operational excellence, as the client looks to enhance the asset further through a programme of major works to the development.
You'll lead the day-to-day operational management of this major multi-let office building, overseeing a large service charge budget, an experienced on-site team, and a best-in-class service delivery model.
The occupier experience is central to everything and so you'll be tasked with ensuring that the building isn't just maintained to the highest standards, but that it's a dynamic, thriving environment where tenants genuinely want to stay and grow.
Key responsibilities:
-
Leading a multi-disciplinary on-site team, including operations, engineering, front of house, and guest services.
-
Delivering an exceptional occupier experience through strong relationships, proactive communication, and service innovation.
-
Managing a significant service charge budget and delivering strong commercial outcomes for both occupiers and the client.
-
Overseeing all aspects of hard and soft service delivery, ensuring compliance, best practice and continuous improvement.
-
Driving ESG initiatives, supporting the client's environmental goals, and embedding sustainability into day-to-day operations.
-
Working closely with leasing and asset management teams to support leasing activity and wider asset strategy.
-
Ensuring that all compliance, statutory and health and safety obligations are fully met and continually monitored.
-
Building a visible presence within the building, engaging with occupiers, visitors and stakeholders daily.
As the successful applicant, you'll need extensive experience as a General Manager (or Senior Building Manager) in a high-profile, multi-let commercial environment - ideally with a track record managing large teams and substantial service charge budgets.
You'll combine strong leadership skills with a commercial mindset and an unwavering focus on the occupier experience.
Experience with overseeing significant building upgrades, operational compliance, and innovation in service delivery will be important, along with the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and occupier teams.
An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is essential.
