We have a wonderful opportunity for a hardworking and dedicated Domestic Couple (Housekeeper and Driver) to work for a lovely family of two, based between their residences in West London and Surrey. This is a long-term position ideal for a couple who are organised, flexible, and committed to maintaining high standards. The role requires the couple to travel regularly between the two properties to ensure that both homes are always well maintained, fully operational, and guest-ready at all times.
Working closely with the principals, the couple will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of both properties. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and take initiative as well as work well as part of a team. The Housekeeper will be responsible for all aspects of housekeeping, including laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, deep and daily cleaning, and maintaining a tidy, well-organised home environment. The Housekeeper should be well presented, with good interpersonal skills.
The Driver will be responsible for driving the principals to and from appointments, running errands, and ensuring the vehicles are regularly cleaned, fuelled, and well maintained. They will also manage general household maintenance and basic DIY tasks, coordinate with tradespeople, and oversee light gardening and outdoor upkeep, ensuring that the exterior of both properties is tidy and presentable at all times. Experience driving luxury vehicles is essential and knowledge of driving in and around London.
The couple would be required to work 5 days a week, with 2 days off over 40-45 hours per week. There is accommodation available at both properties for the couple. The ideal couple will be discreet, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoy creating a well-run, welcoming home. Excellent references from previous private household roles are essential.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Managing laundry, ironing, changing bed lines, cleaning bathrooms and all general cleaning in the house
- Wardrobe management
- Packing and unpacking
- Maintaining both homes to the highest of standards (Interior and exterior)
- Preparing weekly rotas
- Grocery shopping
- Ensuring all walkways and pathways are clear
- Window cleaning
- Driving the principal to meetings and appointments; maintaining, cleaning and fuelling the cars
- Ad-hoc errand running
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Prior experience within a similar role
- Excellent communication skills & team players
- Good eye for detail; knowledge and experience of caring for high-end furniture and fabrics
- Ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
- Responsible, reliable and discreet
- Right to work within the UK
- Full clean UK driving license
- Excellent checkable references
