The successful Early Years Teaching Assistant will ideally have:

  • A love for children and early years education
  • Patience, positivity, and a big dose of enthusiasm
  • Insight into specialist interventions and strategies, including Makaton.
  • Knowledge of sensory integration and therapeutic support strategies.
  • A passion for supporting students with complex needs in education and training settings.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff
  • Have a valid DBS or be willing to obtain one
  • Have a relevent degree e.g Pshychology
