Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Southwark, South East LondonStart Date: May 2025 | £90-£109 per day | Summer Term Placement

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for working with children and considering a career in education, child psychology, therapy, or special educational needs (SEN)?

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the heart of Southwark is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team for the summer term, starting in May 2025, for the remainder of the academic year.

This is an ideal opportunity for graduates looking to gain hands-on classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or further studies in child development, psychology, or therapy.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils across a range of year groups (EYFS to KS2)
  • Working closely with class teachers to provide targeted support
  • Assisting with learning activities, interventions, and behaviour support
  • Supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Standard working hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm

Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Criminology, Languages, Education, or a related field
  • A strong interest in child development, education, or SEN
  • Patient, enthusiastic, and keen to make a difference
  • Previous experience working with children (formal or informal) is beneficial but not essential
