About the Role - KS2 Teaching Assistant

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff across Key Stage 2, offering both general classroom support and targeted help to pupils with SEND. You will contribute to the smooth running of the class, assist with learning activities, and help pupils thrive academically and socially.

This position is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of the UK primary curriculum and is confident supporting children with a range of needs.

Responsibilities - KS2 Teaching Assistant

  • Support pupils in KS2 with day-to-day learning across subjects
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups, particularly with pupils who have SEND
  • Provide in-class support to help deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Assist with classroom management, behaviour support, and interventions
  • Support teachers in preparing resources and maintaining a positive environment
  • Help pupils build confidence, independence, and a love of learning

The Ideal Candidate - KS2 Teaching Assistant

This school is looking for a KS2 Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic, calm under pressure, and confident delivering tailored support to pupils with a range of learning needs.

You must have:

  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting
  • Solid understanding of the UK Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • SEND experience, including supporting pupils with Autism, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
