A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team in a Primary ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) unit based across two welcoming sites in Vauxhall and Kennington. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who thrives in structured, supportive environments.
The school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with Autism and additional communication needs. You'll work in small classes with a high adult-to-pupil ratio, delivering targeted support and helping children access learning through structured routines, visual aids, and sensory strategies.
SEN Teaching Assistant - Role Overview:

Work across the ASD unit on either the Vauxhall or Kennington site.

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged 4-11 with Autism.

Collaborate closely with class teachers and therapists to implement individual education plans (IEPs).

Foster a calm and nurturing environment that promotes communication and learning.
SEN Teaching Assistant - Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant, especially with Autism.

Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or sensory regulation is a bonus.

Calm, consistent, and patient in approach.

Available full-time, Monday to Friday.
