We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and highly motivated individual to work in a full-time 1:1 support role with a female student who presents with a range of learning and developmental needs. The role will be based in a supportive mainstream school in Fairlop, within the London Borough of Redbridge, starting September 2025.
About the StudentThe student has a complex profile and requires consistent, sensitive support throughout the school day. Her diagnosed needs include:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Expressive and Receptive Language Delay

Developmental Delay

Sensory Processing Dysfunction

Anxiety

Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)
She also receives up to three hours of in-school tutoring each day from an external agency. She can at times miscommunicate or speak in a way that may not reflect her intent; understanding this and responding with patience and care is crucial.
Role Responsibilities-
Provide consistent 1:1 support across the school day

Support with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs

Facilitate access to learning by working closely with the teaching team and external tutors

Write clear, professional emails and maintain regular communication with a range of professionals (including therapists, tutors, and SEN teams)

Work closely with the student's parents and carers to ensure joined-up support

Help the student navigate social interactions, routines, and learning tasks

Promote her independence and confidence in line with individual education plans

Bachelor's degree or higher (required)

Available full-time from September 2025 (Monday-Friday, term-time only)

Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is strongly preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Calm, patient, empathetic approach with strong emotional resilience

Ability to work collaboratively with parents, professionals, and school staff
