Veritas Education is recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive primary school in Deptford, which is looking to appoint a skilled and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time opportunity to work in a dedicated SEN classroom, supporting pupils across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Role Overview:You will be supporting children with a range of additional learning needs, including autism spectrum condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language challenges, and moderate learning difficulties. The role requires a flexible and confident approach, as you will be working both one-to-one with pupils and with small groups.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver tailored support to meet the individual needs of SEN pupils
  • Assist in planning and delivering learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Help manage behaviour and support emotional regulation using positive reinforcement strategies
  • Adapt resources and teaching approaches to suit different learning styles

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of support strategies for children in KS1 and KS2
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and building positive relationships with pupils
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is advantageous
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one via Veritas
