Ecologist - London

A well-established and respected ecological consultancy in the South and East of England is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Ecologist to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work on a diverse range of ecological projects in a supportive and forward-thinking environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological services, including habitat and species surveys, technical reporting, and client liaison. They will contribute to impactful projects across sectors such as infrastructure, residential development, and conservation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a range of ecological surveys, including habitat assessments and protected species surveys

  • Liaise professionally with clients, local authorities, and regulatory bodies

  • Support junior team members and assist with project coordination

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related subject

  • At least two years of experience in ecological consultancy (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and survey methodologies

  • Experience with species licensing (e.g. bat, great crested newt) is desirable

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A full UK driving licence
