We are working with a leading global academic publisher to recruit an experienced Production Editor to join their books publishing team.

This role can be worked on a hybrid basis in their London office 2 days a week and 3 days from home.

Responsibilities include:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Liaising with authors, internal and external stakeholders, including printers and freelancers. to ensure timely delivery of manuscripts

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Dealing with author queries related to book production

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Check, proofread, and on occasion copyedit manuscripts ensuring format adheres to house style

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Preparing back-cover blurb and liaise with designers for book covers

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Attending regular team meetings with colleagues in other departments to discuss progress of manuscript

In this role, you will help to develop and shape the production editorial processes, ensuring the highest quality service is provided to authors. The role will also include overseeing/mentoring a more junior member of the team.

The successful candidate will have proven experience ideally from a book production editorial background. You will also have a sound understanding of editorial copyediting and proofreading standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to manage multiple projects. The ability to work independently as well as a team player in a dynamic environment is also essential.
