Aston Education is looking for an Academic Support Year Lead for an Ofsted Good 11-16 secondary school in Lambeth, South London.

 

The Academic Support Year Lead focuses on academic oversight, student guidance, and promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing within a Year Group (KS3 or KS4).

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead Advisory Teams for a Year Group by establishing, and maintaining positive routines
  • Use data to produce reports for a range of audiences including Governors and external agencies
  • Use data to inform smart measurable target setting, to raise individual outcomes
  • Maintain behaviour systems and create a positive learning environment
  • Track student attendance and performance, identifying underachievement and implementing interventions
  • Safeguard students' health, safety, and wellbeing
  • Liaise with parents and carers

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Degree, ideally with Psychology or Behavioural Science
  • Proven experience in an academic support role in a secondary mainstream school
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience coaching students for improved outcomes
  • Experience of tracking performance and implementing interventions
  • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Safeguarding training
