Location: Kensington
Contract: 3 months initially
Hours: 21.6 per week
Rate: 27 per hour (umbrella) (22 PAYE an hour)
Start: ASAP

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is seeking a dedicated Advisory Teacher to join our Virtual School on a part-time, temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational outcomes of children in care.
About the Role The Virtual School has a statutory duty to promote the educational achievement of looked-after children, care leavers, and those with a social worker. As an Advisory Teacher, you will play a key role in:
  • Supporting and challenging schools to meet the needs of children in care.
  • Working directly with a range of professionals to improve educational outcomes.
  • Providing advice, training, and guidance to schools, social workers, and carers.
  • Contributing to reports, assessments, and monitoring progress.
This is a hybrid role, not a home-based post. You will be required to:
  • Travel to schools both within and outside London (travel warrants provided for out-of-London visits).
  • Attend in-person meetings and maintain an office presence within the borough.
About You We are looking for a qualified and committed education professional who can bring creativity, independence, and excellent communication skills to the team. You will need to demonstrate:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching at least two key stages.
  • Strong report-writing skills and the ability to work with precision and clarity.
  • Flexibility to follow direction while also working with autonomy and creative flair.
  • A clear understanding of the purpose and statutory function of a Virtual School.

If you are passionate about ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive in education, and you have the skills and experience outlined above, we would love to hear from you.
