Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School | Newham | Full-Time | September Start

Are you passionate about supporting young people to make positive choices and succeed in school? Do you have the confidence, empathy, and resilience to work with students who may be facing behavioural, social, or emotional challenges?

We are a diverse and inclusive secondary school in Newham seeking a committed and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join our pastoral team. This is a vital role focused on building relationships, promoting positive behaviour, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

The Role:
  • Support students in managing their behaviour both in and outside of the classroom

  • Work one-to-one and in small groups to deliver tailored mentoring and behaviour interventions

  • Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to implement behaviour support strategies

  • Help maintain a calm, safe, and respectful school environment

  • Monitor progress, keep records, and contribute to student support plans

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural or emotional needs (in schools, youth work, or community settings)

  • Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills

  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach

  • A genuine desire to support students and promote a culture of respect and inclusion
