Electrical Engineer – Facilities Management / Building Services
Location: Tottenham Court Road
Salary: £45,000 + Training + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time
About the Role
Skilled Careers are currently partnering up with one of our long-term clients to assist with appointment of an electrical engineer to be based on a single man site. This technical engineer will be joining a growing business with long term opportunities.
In this role, you’ll ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems through planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and compliance testing — helping to keep the building running smoothly and reliably for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical building services systems (lighting, power, switchgear, emergency lighting, etc.)
- Carry out fault-finding, diagnosis, and repair on a range of electrical plant and equipment
- Assist with minor mechanical maintenance across different plant room systems.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and in line with statutory and company procedures
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and safety checks
- Work closely with other engineers, FM teams, and contractors to deliver a seamless service
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised Electrical qualification (City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ or equivalent)
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Experience within commercial or building services environments (FM, healthcare, retail, education, etc.)
- Good understanding of HV/LV systems, BMS interfaces, and general electrical maintenance
- Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent) desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and customer-focused approach
