Electrical Lead Engineer – Facilities Management / Building Services

Location: Liverpool Street
Salary: £47,000 - £52,000 + benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:00am – 5:00pm
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time

About the Role

A leading services provider has approached Skilled Careers to assist with looking for a Electrical Lead Engineer to take responsibility for the day-to-day technical leadership of a busy commercial site.

You’ll oversee a team of multi-skilled engineers, ensuring all electrical maintenance, compliance, and project works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role, combining technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support a team of site-based engineers and subcontractors

• Oversee planned and reactive electrical maintenance, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and client KPIs

• Carry out fault-finding, testing, and repairs on electrical systems (lighting, power, switchgear, emergency systems, etc.)

• Ensure all documentation, permits, and safety records are completed accurately and on time

• Manage workload planning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring

• Liaise with clients and FM management to maintain strong relationships and service delivery

• Identify and implement opportunities for energy efficiency, asset improvement, and system upgrades

Qualifications & Experience

• Recognised Electrical qualification (City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ or equivalent)

• 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

• Experience in commercial or critical building services environments (FM, data centres, healthcare, etc.)

• Previous experience in a supervisory or lead engineer position

• Excellent understanding of PPM, compliance, and health & safety processes

• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills

• Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent) desirable
