Electrical Shift Engineer
City of London
Shift - 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights)
Up to - £49,000 + Overtime + Training Package + Progression

About the Role

Skilled Careers are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Shift Engineer to join and work for one off our committed clients who are industry leaders. During this time you will be ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of all building services within a busy, high-profile environment.

As part of the shift engineering team, you’ll be responsible for reactive and planned maintenance of electrical systems, while supporting mechanical and HVAC services to maintain compliance, efficiency, and uptime across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical building services systems (lighting, power, emergency systems, etc.)

  • Fault-finding, diagnosis, and repair of electrical and control systems

  • Support critical plant operations including switchgear, generators, UPS, and BMS

  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records in line with statutory and company standards

  • Assist with contractor supervision and site safety compliance

  • Work closely with colleagues and the FM team to deliver a high-quality service

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised Electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ or equivalent)

  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

  • Experience within commercial or critical building environments (FM, data centre, healthcare, or similar)

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and team working abilities

  • Additional mechanical or HVAC experience is an advantage
