Junior Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Static Site (Data Centre), North West London
Salary: 45,000


Calibre Searc are working in partnership with a leading manufacturer in the HVAC sector to recruit a Junior Electrical Commissioning Engineer for a permanent, site-based role at a flagship data centre in North West London (NW10). This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-performing team, working in a technically complex and critical environment with cutting-edge AHU and ventilation systems.


The role will see you involved in the commissioning of Air Handling Units (AHUs) and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with strict performance standards and health & safety requirements. Full training will be provided on the manufacturer's systems and control platforms, with development opportunities for long-term career growth.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Carry out commissioning tasks on AHUs and other HVAC equipment in line with defined scripts and procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with senior engineers and the Project Manager to deliver the Commissioning Programme on time and within budget.

  • Identify and report any risks (resource, financial, or scheduling) to the Project Manager.

  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with health and safety requirements and site protocols.

  • Complete test scripts, performance checks, and commissioning documentation in English.

  • Conduct airflow measurements and evaluate electrical, pressure, temperature, and humidity metrics.

  • Participate in risk assessments and method statement (RAMS) preparation to a high standard.

  • Supervise internal or external cleaning teams during deep cleans of AHUs when required.

  • Develop strong working relationships with internal teams, general contractors, commissioning authorities (CxA), and other site contractors.

  • Support safe working practices including working at height, use of MEWPs, podium steps, and harnesses.


Position Requirements:


  • Electrical qualification essential (NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC or similar).

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification is beneficial.

  • Experience in 400V electrical environments is highly desirable.

  • Prior experience in HVAC commissioning and understanding of ventilation systems is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of airflow principles and basic electrical measurements.

  • Comfortable working at height (IPAF, MEWP and harness experience desirable).

  • Computer literacy (Office 365, email, documentation systems).

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Ability to create and understand RAMS documentation.

  • Valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence required.

  • Experience with MODBUS systems and understanding of ASHRAE L1-L5 commissioning stages is a distinct advantage.

  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification is a plus, but not essential.

  • Must live within or close to the NW10 area.
