Our client, a prominent name in the rail industry, is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team in London. This permanent role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead and manage electrical engineering projects and teams, being based at their Elephant and Castle office three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking the CEM and/or CRE role
- Deputising for the Associate Director as required
- Developing design from feasibility up to As Built
- Carrying out design reviews and working to design assurance processes
- Helping to grow the team and developing its technical capability
- Leading and managing a small team of engineers
- Mentoring others in CRE roles, and providing discipline training
- Nurturing a 'get it right first time' culture within the team
- Producing and issuing progress reports
- Preparing and conducting presentations to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Member of an engineering institute with Engineering Council Professional Registration
- Experience of undertaking the CEM/CRE/DPE role
- Experience in managing works in accordance with NR-L2-RSE-02009, Engineering Management of Projects
- Experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination
- Comprehensive knowledge of British Standards and Rail Standards (e.g., Network Rail, HS2, TfL)
- Ability to deliver work to a programme and budget
- Excellent leadership skills and mentoring experience
- Proficient in leading meetings and presenting to various stakeholders
- Deep understanding of electrical systems from technical, design, installation, buildability, and maintenance perspectives
- Knowledge of engineering software tools (e.g., Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux or Relux)
- Knowledge of procurement activities and lead times
- Right to work in the UK
