Are you an experienced and highly motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias, seeking an exciting opportunity within a prestigious high-end hotel environment. Randstad are seeking a dedicated and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our in-house team at a luxurious hotel located in the vibrant area of Putney. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a crucial role in maintaining the impeccable standards of our property, ensuring a seamless and elevated experience for our guests.

The Role:

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the entire hotel site. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and longevity of all building services and hotel infrastructure. You will be expected to work autonomously, diagnose faults efficiently, and provide high-quality repairs with a keen eye for detail and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of building services, including electrical systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, and general fabric.
  • Conduct fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, including lighting, power distribution, and general electrical plant.
  • Maintain and monitor plant room operations, including chillers, boilers, pumps, and associated equipment.
  • Undertake general plumbing tasks such as leak detection and repair, maintenance of hot and cold water systems, and general sanitary ware issues.
  • Carry out basic fabric repairs, including carpentry, painting, plastering, tiling, and general upkeep to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the hotel.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and carry out effective repairs to minimise disruption to hotel operations and guest experience.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and relevant legislation.
  • Liaise effectively with hotel management, other departments, and external contractors when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, suggesting enhancements to maintenance processes and systems.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a high-end hotel or similar commercial environment (e.g., prestigious commercial buildings, large residential developments).
  • Strong electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience with HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, chillers, boilers) and associated controls (BMS).
  • Solid understanding of plumbing systems and general fabric maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills across various disciplines.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage workload effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and guest-focused approach.
  • A commitment to health and safety best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.
