They have the expertise and capability to deliver scalable projects efficiently and effectively, with 1GWh under construction and a substantial multi-gigawatt pipeline worldwide. As a result, they now wish to expand their highly skilled project development team to continue their upward trajectory.In this role, the senior engineer will take the lead on the technical development of international utility-scale battery storage projects from early stage to financial close. You will carry out initial electrical designs and site layout, prepare project documentation, coordinate with global teams, negotiate with international contractors and equipment suppliers, lead technical due diligence with buyers and banks, and manage permit applications to reach ready-to-build status. This role will be predominantly based in the central London office, with frequent international travel.This role would suit a senior engineer with proven experience working on the technical development of renewable or power generation infrastructure (e.g. BESS, Solar, Gas Turbines, Wind). You will hold a relevant engineering degree (electrical, mechanical, power etc) and have good knowledge of electrical engineering concepts. It is essential that you are flexible to travel internationally as required.This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact to renewable energy infrastructure on an international scale, where you will drive the technical delivery of cutting-edge BESS projects and stamp your mark within a dynamic renewable energy facilitator.The Role:
- Lead international BESS projects through technical development to financial close
- Carry out initial site layout and electrical design
- Develop complex project requirements and documentation, such as major equipment, balance of plant, optimiser, O&M
- Negotiate with international suppliers and contractors
- Lead technical due diligence with buyers and banks
- Manage permit applications with planning department
- Based in central London office (minimum 3 days office based) - international travel required
The Person:
- Seasoned engineer with experience in the development of renewable or power generation infrastructure (Solar, BESS, Wind, Gas Turbines etc)
- Good knowledge of electrical engineering concepts
- Degree in relevant engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, power or similar)
- Commutable to central London and flexible to travel internationally when required
