MMP Consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer on behalf of an NHS Trust based in Northwest London. This is an ongoing temporary position with an hourly rate of 40ph through an umbrella company over a 37.5 hour working week.


The successful candidate will oversee Hard FM operations, including maintenance management, sustainability, energy efficiency, and Health & Safety compliance. They will also lead on specialist areas such as LV/HV electrical systems, water safety, ventilation, lifts, medical gases, pressure systems, asbestos management, and contractor oversight.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of Hard FM services across Trust sites.
  • Provide expert professional advice on complex electrical and estates engineering matters.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including HTMs, HBNs, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Manage and develop multi-disciplinary estates and maintenance teams, promoting a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Trust's Estates Strategy and associated management plans.
  • Act as budget holder for maintenance services, ensuring cost control, value for money and service efficiency.
  • Oversee contractor performance and ensure adherence to Trust policies and standards.
  • Contribute to business continuity, risk management, and CQC compliance activities.
  • Participate in the Estates management on-call rota.

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional or technical qualification (e.g. IET, CIBSE, IMechE, IHEEM).
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • In-depth knowledge of HTMs, HBNs, and healthcare engineering standards.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety, CDM Regulations, and statutory compliance.
  • Proven experience leading and motivating multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
