Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with data centre expertise This is a rare opportunity to join a global consultancy at the forefront of advanced mission-critical design.

My client is expanding their specialist data centre team in London and is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who can bring strong technical capability, sector knowledge, and a passion for delivering resilient, high-performance environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading mechanical design for hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data centre projects

• Producing detailed designs, specifications and calculations for cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, chilled water, DX, free cooling, hot/cold aisle containment, etc.)

• Ensuring designs meet high-availability, redundancy and energy-efficiency requirements

• Coordinating with electrical, structural, sustainability and specialist MEP teams

• Managing client relationships and contributing to technical workshops

• Supporting delivery from concept through to commissioning

• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development

What They’re Looking For

• Essential: Proven technical experience in the data centre sector

• Strong understanding of mission-critical mechanical systems, redundancy standards (N, N+1, 2N), and relevant industry guidelines

• Proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g. IES, Revit, CFD exposure beneficial)

• Ability to present technical solutions confidently to clients and internal teams

• Chartered or working toward Chartership (CIBSE/IMechE) is an advantage
