Maintenance Electrician (Historic / Heritage Buildings)

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join a Building Services team responsible for a large, historic, multi-use property. The role involves a mix of electrical installation, planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and technical support for events within a heritage environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, fixtures, and lighting.
- Work on both single-phase and three-phase systems for motors, pumps, fans, and associated control gear.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose electrical faults to ensure compliance with BS 7671 and relevant regulations.
- Maintain emergency lighting, generators, and electrical safety logs.
- Provide reactive maintenance and support for building operations and events, including temporary power setups.
- Assist with surveys, PPM schedules, and CAFM system updates.
- Liaise with contractors and provide technical advice when required.
- Support other maintenance tasks where reasonable.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- City & Guilds (or equivalent) electrical qualification
- 18th Edition
- Experience in commercial or heritage building maintenance
- Computer literate & able to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable:
- 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing)
- Experience with plant controls, UPS, or generators
