A leading manufacturer of high-precision scientific equipment is seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to strengthen its in-house electronics capability. The company designs and builds advanced systems used by industrial customers and research institutions worldwide.

The Role

This is a senior, hands-on engineering position suited to an experienced Electronics Engineer with a strong background in electronic design and development. You will play a key technical role in the delivery of complex electronic systems, contributing across the full product lifecycle while providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic hardware and embedded systems for high-precision scientific instrumentation.
  • Take technical ownership of electronics designs from concept through to production.
  • Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and software engineers to ensure effective system integration.
  • Support prototype build, verification testing, fault-finding, and design validation activities.
  • Contribute to design reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
  • Assist with the transition from prototype to production, including support for manufacturing and test.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in analogue, digital, and power electronics design.
  • Strong PCB design and layout experience.
  • Experience with embedded systems development.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with scientific, medical, or precision instrumentation is advantageous but not essential.
