My client, a trusted and established leader in smart building technology is looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join a dedicated Small Works and Installation Team, based on-site across various Central London client locations.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong background in installing and maintaining electronic security systems including CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and Perimeter Detection.

You’ll take responsibility for the full project lifecycle on small works from installation to commissioning whilst providing responsive support for break/fix issues and service callouts.

To be considered for this role you will need to have a valid ECS or CSCS card and a full, clean UK Driving Licence as well as:

  • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in security system installation
  • Hands-on experience with technologies from key manufacturers including:
  • Axis, Avigilon, Milestone, CCure, Gallagher, Genetec, CEM, Honeywell, Zenitel, Commend
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices
  • Ability to interpret construction and electrical drawings
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

It would also be desired if you also had either of :

  • Have a First Aid certification
  • Be IPAF or PASMA qualified
  • Have any experience of AV, IT infrastructure, IoT, wireless networks, or fibre systems

Responsibilities will include

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install, configure, and commission a wide range of security systems, including:
    • CCTV (IP and Analogue)
    • Access Control (Proximity, Smart Card, Biometric)
    • Intruder Alarms
    • Intercom and Video Entry Systems
    • Perimeter Intrusion Detection
  • Perform accurate cable routing, termination, testing, and documentation.
  • Mount and align hardware such as cameras, sensors, door readers, and control panels to meet design and compliance standards.
  • Interpret and work from site drawings, schematics, scopes, and specifications.
  • Carry out on-site surveys and report findings effectively.
  • Test and verify all system components and provide client training where needed.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with relevant standards (e.g. BS EN, NSI, SSAIB).

Service & Maintenance

  • Respond promptly to service requests and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in installed systems, including firmware and software updates.
  • Replace defective components and make configuration changes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report issues in line with company processes.

Client & Team Interaction

  • Work collaboratively with clients, sub-contractors, and colleagues on-site.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, senior engineers, and the scheduling team.
  • Use customer portals and reporting tools as directed by the Engineering Manager.
  • Assist with other duties in the Security Engineering team where required.

General Duties

  • Maintain vehicle stock, tools, and equipment in good working order.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and site-specific RAMS.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for emergency support.
  • Attend training, product certifications, and upskilling sessions as required.
  • Adhere to company policies on GDPR, data security, and confidentiality.
