We're working exclusively with Energy UK, the trade association at the heart of the UK's energy transition, to recruit a Policy Manager - Systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in energy infrastructure, regulation or systems governance to help shape the future of the UK's energy networks and navigating the key challenges in building an energy grid fit for net zero.

About the Role

This role sits within Energy UK's Policy Team and focuses on some of the most complex and high-impact areas of the energy system, including:

  • Network regulation - particularly RIIO price controls and connections reform
  • Infrastructure delivery - ensuring the grid is fit for net zero
  • Governance and licensing - including NESO and system operator arrangements
  • Stakeholder engagement - representing the sector in meetings, working groups, and conferences
  • Briefing and analysis - preparing papers for the Executive Team and Board

We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running in a technically complex space. You'll need to be confident navigating regulatory frameworks and translating them into clear, actionable insights for members and stakeholders.

You'll likely have:

  • Experience in energy policy, regulation, or infrastructure
  • Knowledge of networks infrastructure, connections, or licensing
  • Experience at a regulator, network or systems operator or code administrator
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Political awareness and stakeholder engagement experience

Bonus points for:

  • Knowledge of EV infrastructure, spatial planning, or locational pricing
  • Legal or technical background with regulatory documentation experience
