This role works in close collaboration with the Engineering Team to deliver to safe, efficient vessels to our operations team
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Practical engineer with technical vessel management experience.
- Experience with management of Statutory and Classification requirements.
- Experience in high speed vessel propulsion systems.
- Experience in managing safe systems of work.
- Proven experience of developing and delivering technical projects/solutions
- Extensive experience of personal responsibility for providing professional engineering support to major projects
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that your teams and you comply with all Health and Safety regulations and safe
- working practice as required by current legislation and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and practices.
- Technical line management for a team of Engineers supported by sub-contractors to maximise engineering productivity for planned and unplanned engineering tasks in support of vessel operational demands.
- Prioritise fleet defects raised and delegate tasks ensuring engineering governance in the reporting and closure of engineering tasks, consistent with company reporting structure and safety management system.
- Ensure the root cause of vessel defects is investigated thoroughly with the implementation of long term solutions reported consistent with company structure and safety management system.
- Maintain vessel readiness and performance in support of operational demands.
- Provide technical input to the development of specification and oversight of the construction of new build vessels.
- Monitor vessel condition and ships staff compliance consistent with company policies and safety management system.
- Liaise with suppliers (internal and external) to ensure the rectification of vessel defects are reported consistent with company structure and safety management system.

- Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable request as requested by the HOD and any member of the senior management team
- Work alongside the engineering team to ensure annual, intermediate and renewal dry
- dockings are planned and scoped with appropriate resource to rime, quality and cost.
- Internally manage hull and machinery insurance claims from incident through to invoicing.
- Perform periodic reviews of vessel calendar and hours based maintenance schedules to identify opportunities to increase productivity and operational cost savings.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL
Located at Trinity Buoy Wharf working variable hours on a shift pattern, including night shifts and at our Dry Dock, in Tilbury, as required
