Randstad is excited to be partnering with a well-established and reputable residential construction company in London. They are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Technical Coordinator to join their team on a 5-month contract basis. This role will have a strong focus on providing essential technical support to the site and project teams, ensuring smooth and efficient project delivery.

The Role:

As the Technical Coordinator, you will be a key point of contact for all technical queries arising on site. Your primary focus will be to provide comprehensive technical support to the site management team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for technical queries from site teams and subcontractors.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely technical support and guidance to ensure efficient project progression.
  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
  • Assist in the resolution of technical issues and discrepancies on site, escalating complex matters as necessary.
  • Liaise with external consultants (architects, engineers, etc.) to clarify technical details and obtain necessary information.
  • Track and manage the flow of technical information between the design team and the site team.
  • Assist in the coordination and management of the Building Regulations approval process.
  • Support the implementation of quality control procedures and ensure adherence to technical standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical queries, responses, and resolutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation as required.
  • Contribute to value engineering exercises and identify potential technical solutions.
  • Ensure that the latest drawings and technical information are readily available to the site team.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Coordinator within the residential construction sector.
  • A strong understanding of building regulations, construction methods, and materials used in residential developments.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with a strong focus on providing excellent technical support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant construction-related qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND, degree) are desirable.
  • A valid CSCS card is advantageous.
