A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Sustainability Consultant to join their growing team of environmental and building performance professionals. Principal Sustainability Consultant - Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of embodied carbon assessments and life cycle assessments (LCAs) in line with GLA and BREEAM requirements
• Develop circular economy strategies and prepare Circular Economy Statements for planning submissions
• Contribute to or lead decarbonisation plans for existing and new buildings
• Manage sustainability certifications (e.g. BREEAM, WELL, LEED, HQM, DREAM, Fitwel), supporting projects through all RIBA stages
• Facilitate client workshops and stakeholder meetings to communicate sustainability goals and technical requirements
• Write clear and concise technical reports, ensuring outputs are of a consistently high standard
• Support the development of internal tools, frameworks, and methodologies
• Mentor and guide junior sustainability consultants
• Take responsibility for project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation

Principal Sustainability Consultant - About You

• A degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Environmental Design, Architecture, Engineering, Sustainability)
• Relevant experience delivering sustainability solutions within the built environment
• Proven track record in LCA, carbon management, and sustainability certification schemes
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in client-facing roles
• Strong project management experience, including financial oversight
• Passion for innovation, low-carbon design, and creating positive environmental impact
• Experience working across project stages from concept to post-occupancy is highly desirable
