Environmental Manager a major offshore wind developer based in England
Responsibilities.
- Draft environmental management requirements for procurement activities.
- Evaluate the environmental management capabilities and systems of Tier 1 tender submissions for the Project.
- Provide input to monitor environmental management and performance of ongoing development activities, such as surveys, design and FEED activities.
- Support the Examination process for the Development Consent Order where appropriate.
- Review compliance of any Environmental policies and procedures with existing third-party agreements, for example onshore cable easements, proximity agreements and the Crown Estate Agreement for Leases for array and transmission.
- In the longer term, undertake environmental audits of potential Tier 1 suppliers and support any technical due diligence.
- Review environmental aspects of emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Requirements
- Ideally have a professional qualification such as a Certified Environmental Auditor.
- A minimum of five years' experience of environmental audits, management systems and compliance.
- Detailed experience of environmental management systems such as ISO 14001.
- Appreciation of Environmental laws and regulations, program management relating to pollution prevention, waste minimization, health and safety, and compliance.
- Stakeholder / relationship management skills in a project development and construction environment with stakeholders and contractors.
- Planning, environmental or geographical degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable experience in the renewables or other relevant infrastructure sectors.
- Ability to challenge the status quo, identify solutions, influence stakeholders to enable a successful implementation.
- Project Management skillsets.
- Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks.
- An organised approach to working, task prioritisation and time management.
