A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its growing London team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a senior technical and strategic role, managing large-scale air quality projects and supporting the continued expansion of the consultancy's London operations and wider UK presence.
The Role
Based in London, you will lead the delivery of complex air quality assessments and emissions modelling projects across infrastructure, urban development, transport, and energy sectors. The role offers flexibility through a hybrid working model, combining time in the London office with home working. You'll also have the chance to help shape the consultancy's air quality services across the South East and nationally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the delivery of air quality consultancy and emissions modelling projects.
Oversee technical work, including dispersion modelling (ADMS, AERMOD) and report sign-off.
Produce and review Environmental Statement chapters and technical documentation.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development.
Mentor and support junior consultants within the London team.
Represent the consultancy at meetings with clients, regulators, and planning authorities.
About You
Minimum of 6+ years' experience in air quality consultancy or regulation.
Excellent knowledge of IAQM/EPUK guidance and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography, or a related discipline.
Chartered status (CEnv or IAQM) desirable.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Full UK driving licence.
