Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: 50,000 - 65,000 + Benefits
A respected and growing environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its London office. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional to lead high-profile projects, shape technical direction, and contribute to the strategic growth of the business across London and the UK.
The Role
As a Principal Consultant, you will take responsibility for the delivery of complex air quality and emissions modelling projects across diverse sectors such as infrastructure, urban development, transport, and energy.
Operating on a hybrid basis, you will balance time between the London office and remote work, supporting the expansion of the consultancy's air quality capabilities throughout the South East and nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of air quality and emissions modelling projects. 
- Oversee technical work, including dispersion modelling (ADMS, AERMOD) and detailed technical reviews. 
- Prepare and sign off Environmental Statement chapters and associated technical reports. 
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development and proposal writing. 
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior consultants. 
- Represent the consultancy in meetings with clients, regulators, and planning authorities. 
About You
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in air quality consultancy or regulatory work. 
- Strong knowledge of IAQM/EPUK guidance and relevant UK environmental legislation. 
- Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography, or a related field. 
- Chartered status (CEnv or IAQM) preferred. 
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. 
- Full UK driving licence.
