Events Coordinator – Higher Education
(Fixed-term / Temporary role – with potential for extension)

We are seeking an experienced Part Time Events Coordinator to join our busy Events Team. The post-holder will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of events across the academic calendar. This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the smooth delivery of events, including graduation ceremonies and other high-profile activities.
  • Act as a first point of contact for colleagues, graduates, external suppliers, and VIP guests, managing queries via departmental mailboxes.
  • Create and upload accurate and accessible content across the university’s website and communication channels.
  • Manage large databases to ensure information is secure, accurate, and event-ready.
  • Produce professional event materials such as invitations, brochures, and briefing documents in line with brand guidelines.
  • Provide flexible support on additional tasks as delegated by the Events Manager or Business Support Manager.

Person Specification:

  • Demonstrable experience in event management, ideally within Higher Education.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of large-scale events such as graduation ceremonies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Advanced IT skills including content management systems, databases, virtual platforms (e.g. Zoom), and email marketing tools.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach to work.
