Senior Events Officer - Cultural & Corporate Programmes** London Borough | Contract | Competitive Rate **

The vacancy is working on a full time agency contract for 6 months with a view to extended.

Rates of pay are starting at £24 - £30 per hour which is negotiable depending on your experience.

Location - Greenwich, SE18.

We're seeking a Senior Events Officer to oversee a vibrant year-round calendar of cultural, corporate, commercial, and community events in line with the borough's Culture Strategy.

This role is key in ensuring smooth delivery, safety compliance, and supporting income generation through third-party partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and on-site management of council-led and third-party events across the borough.
  • Manage the event application and approval process, ensuring compliance with health & safety and council policies.
  • Work with stakeholders, agencies, and partners to ensure smooth coordination of event logistics.
  • Drive commercial event opportunities and help achieve income targets.
  • Represent the council in meetings, including Safety Advisory Groups and internal/external briefings.
  • Ensure all events meet HSE and local authority safety standards (IOSH qualified preferred).
  • Support volunteer/apprentice coordination and maintain budget oversight.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong project management skills, experience in cultural events, and a passion for community impact.
