We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Technical Theatre & Production Manager to oversee the technical management and smooth running of a brand-new, professional-standard theatre within a state-of-the-art education facility. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a world-class Performing Arts programme from the ground up.

Location: West / Central London

Salary: Up to £45,000

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of the theatre, including production planning, scheduling, and operations. Working closely with the Director of Performing Arts, you will support teaching, rehearsals, and an ambitious co-curricular theatre programme, ensuring that all events are delivered to the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and scheduling for drama and performing arts spaces
  • Manage technical requirements for productions, from lighting and sound to set building
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a student production crew
  • Lead production planning, budgeting, and delivery of events
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and equipment maintenance
  • Provide technical support during performances, including Front of House duties where needed
  • Collaborate with staff and community partners to maximise use of the theatre

About You

  • Significant experience as a theatre technician or production manager, ideally in an educational or high-performance environment
  • Strong technical theatre skills, including lighting, sound, and stage management
  • Experience in rigging, focusing, and programming lighting desks, using QLab, and set construction
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach with a good sense of humour
