Do you possess good IT skills? If so, Signature Recruitment is looking for a Scanning Assistant for our client, a prestigious London University. This assignment is full time with an immediate start and will run for four to six weeks and is fully based on campus.

As a Scanning Assistant, your role will support a new pilot initiative at the university - a scanning project which will focus on electronic scanning of examination scripts.

You will be responsible for providing an efficient and accurate scanning service, as well as recording and logging times taken to complete scanning activities as part of a time-motion study. You will be calm and focused with the ability to work well within service-critical timeframes to ensure that examination papers are made available to exam markers. In addition, you may provide other general administrative support as required.

Scanning Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and scanning examination documentation using MFDs or Scanners
  • Working effectively and efficiently in a time sensitive environment whilst checking the clarity and quality of scanned documentation
  • Ensuring documents are correctly named in accordance with naming-conventions
  • Compiling and uploading scanned documentation within SharePoint spaces
  • Dealing with questions and queries arising from the work and signposting to senior leadership when necessary
  • Assisting with other ad-hoc administrative duties in order to support the team, project and wider university

Scanning Assistant Key Skills:

  • Experience in a Higher Education setting with good use of technology and confident using scanners and / or similar equipment
  • Proactive with good organisation and time management and the ability to work well in a busy time sensitive environment
  • Good communication skills - able to communicate effectively with staff and academics
  • Highly proficient IT skills - using appropriate software including MS Outlook and SharePoint
