I am currently recruiting for an experienced commercial finance analyst to join a Global Retail client of mine in London. This role is central to supporting commercial and operational decision making. You will play a key role in budgeting & forecasting and business partnering across functions to drive business growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare performance reports and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external partners, including weekly/monthly business updates and quarterly airport presentations.
  • Develop comprehensive platform-level P&L forecasts and budget presentations, covering sales, margins, and store costs.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial and Operations teams to evaluate commercial initiatives through pricing and promotional analysis, financial modelling, and strategic recommendations.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis into commercial performance metrics (sales, margins, stock, mix effects, KPIs) to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Manage month-end responsibilities, including accrual preparation and variance analysis, to support accurate financial reporting and budget holder insights.
  • Submit monthly financials to the Group and contribute to cost control initiatives.
  • Forecast cashflow requirements and monitor working capital needs.
  • Take ownership of monthly rent calculations and data preparation for audited rent certificates.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
  • Assist with evaluating new business development opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent).
  • 5 years of experience in FP&A or analytical roles, ideally within the retail sector. Experience in food & beverage is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIF.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets to identify trends and business insights.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., SAP Business Warehouse, BI4, SAP Analysis for Office) is desirable.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and offer solutions.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a high attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal-with the confidence to present to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluent in English.
