I am delighted to be assisting my client, a leading Lloyd's Insurer, to recruit for an exciting opportunity within their FP&A Team. In this role, you will be working with the FP&A team and liaising very closely with the underwriting, actuarial (reserving & pricing teams) and reinsurance departments to fulfil the planning and management information functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly premium close process and variance analysis vs. plan/prior year
  • Collaborate with underwriting and operations on variance insights
  • Maintain premium tracking and update GAAP PowerBI Dashboard (monthly/quarterly)
  • Deliver Class of Business (COB) reports and support Actuarial Early Forecasts (GAAP income statements, variance commentaries)
  • Provide ad hoc management reporting and analysis
  • Distribute and review Underwriting Premium & Commission templates
  • Ensure accuracy, version control, and completeness of submissions
  • Coordinate COB expense allocations with divisional heads and Expense Reporting Manager
  • Conduct risk code analysis to support underwriting strategy
  • Produce and review GAAP planning packs
  • Extract and analyse data from Finance Data Store for reporting and ad hoc requests
  • Assist with GAAP premium data (written & earned) for monthly/quarterly closes
  • Prepare analysis tables for Report & Accounts and client schedules for auditors
  • Support FP&A team with the Group Finance Modernisation Project

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry (essential); Lloyd’s market experience desirable
  • Experience liaising with a US head office preferred
  • Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field
  • Early-stage or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets; experienced in variance analysis vs. plan and prior year
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office; experience with IBM Cognos TM1 and Oracle preferred
