The Role

We're seeking a Senior Catastrophe Risk Analyst to take ownership of Cyber, for a reputable specialty Insurer. Alongside Cyber, this role will allow you to support on other lines of business.

The team have recently joined the Underwriting and Analytics function, allowing them to seize on opportunities for automation making this a great team for individuals who enjoy contributing/driving process improvements.

The opportunity:

* Use third party catastrophe models and in-house tools for pre-underwriting analysis

* Lead production of quarterly divisional reports

* Build and maintain a strong relationship with divisional underwriters

* Provide ad hoc reports for underwriting portfolio analysis and reporting for senior executives

* Present results and ideas confidently to senior stakeholders and underwriting teams

* Collaborate closely with colleagues in other Markel offices

* Liaise closely with outsourcing partners

* Lead on ad-hoc projects with assistance from the Catastrophe Management and Associate Director

* Lead internal and external reporting including to Lloyds and the PRA.

Key requirements:

* Proven catastrophe modelling or aggregation management experience in the London market

* Excellent IT skills with good knowledge of SQL. Those with other coding experience are encouraged to apply.

* Proven experience with catastrophe management best practices

* Proven experience of portfolio level aggregation techniques

* Experience of building and maintaining successful relationships with internal and external contacts

* The ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

* Completed a numerical degree with a classification of 2:1 or above, or equivalent
