The Senior Financial Analyst leads the financial planning process across the Group, including the development of the Group's long-term financial model. The role ensures that economic and operational assumptions are robust, aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives, and fully reconciled across all financial statements. This role will also support the regulatory reporting process and contribute to ad-hoc analysis, including M&A support.

Outputs and AccountabilitiesFinancial Planning & Analysis:*Lead on the annual financial plan process from timetabling through to drafting Board papers for the mid-year update and annual financial plan.*Work with and challenge divisional heads to develop economic, operational, and development assumptions, articulating these in the annual assumptions paper for Finance Committee approval.*Collaborate with the Financial Strategy Manager and divisional heads to design credible scenarios for modelling.*Oversee base case and stress testing financial modelling, ensuring outputs are accurate and reconciled with departmental reports.*Maintain the team dashboard, reporting on key financial KPIs.*Act as the key contact for business partners and stakeholders during the financial planning cycle, identifying and escalating any issues in a timely manner.*Prepare analysis and commentary for senior stakeholder review meetings.*Support drafting of regular Board and Committee papers with the Financial Strategy Manager, including the main financial plan submission.*Own and manage the Group financial model, ensuring it operates effectively and supports best practice across the FP&A team.*Liaise with Financial Performance & Improvement, Investment, Development, and Partnerships teams to align assumptions and modelling with wider finance reporting.*Ensure timely updates from all stakeholders in accordance with planning timetables.*Lead on process reviews after each planning cycle to drive continuous improvement.*Ensure alignment between short-term budgeting and long-term strategic financial planning.*Identify financial risks and advise on mitigation strategies during stress periods.Update the 30-year financial forecast as part of the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) submissions.*Support with responses to regulatory queries, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.*Work closely with the Regulatory Returns team to co-ordinate submission timetables and consolidate inputs across the wider finance function.Ad-Hoc & Strategic Support:*Partner with the Treasury team to prepare financial analysis for rating agency presentations.*Provide ad-hoc analysis as required by internal committees, the Financial Strategy Manager, Treasurer, or CFRO.*Ensure financial planning policies, procedures, and systems are efficient, innovative, and well-documented.*Support the Financial Strategy Manager with financial analysis relating to mergers and acquisitions (M&A).Governance and Compliance:*Ensure that all financial planning activities operate in line with the Group's risk management framework, including Health & Safety and Data Protection.*Maintain strong internal controls and demonstrate compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and specific policies.Leadership & Team Management:*Provide leadership, guidance, technical support, motivation and direction to the Financial Analyst*Foster a collaborative, inclusive and supportive environment, encouraging growth and development.*Set clear goals, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews as per management policies.
