City & Capital are delighted to be supporting a fast growing & highly respected specialist property finance lender who are on a huge growth curve, driven by strong investment, and ambitions to be the leading player in their sector.
Our client supports property development and investment professionals with access to small or large property backed loans for key projects. The products on offer include bridging finance, development exits, BTL, portfolio BTL and commercial term mortgages. Deal sizes can range from c£250k - c£100m.
The lender has plans to double the size of their loan book over the coming period which requires substantial lending volumes anddue to this, they are keen to identify and appoint an experienced, knowledgeable and proactive Head of Completions to their growing team.
This is a new role created within the structure and an opportunity to lead and build a team in your own mould. Initially you will inherit a team of completions experts and will be expected to grow this team in line with demand, as funding opportunities grow and well.
Within the role you will liaise closely with internal stakeholders, such as the companies Heads of Underwriting, Credit Risk, Compliance, Legal and Portfolio Management. Externally you will oversee and drive activity and relationships with external stakeholders to the loan funding process, such as legal representatives, brokers and borrowers.
You and your team will be responsible for ensuring that all the required assessments are undertaken on each approved loan, prior to drawdown. Following successful audit and validation by your team, the case is handed over to the Loan Portfolio Management team, who will manage the loan through drawdown and ultimately, to redemption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & grow a team of completions experts in the specialist property sector
- Oversee team activity that drives accurate and positive completions
- Responsible for sign off on files and ensuring activity is complete and accurate
- Key point of contact for external stakeholders to the loan funding cycle
- Close liaison with other business heads and teams to drive success & outcomes
- As 'Player/Manager’ in complex situations or scenarios, leading from the front
- Ensure loans are in line with the needs of the borrower and funding partners
- Actively seek to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Assist the MLRO and AML activity wherever required as Head Of
- Check that credit recommendations follow policy and meet funder expectations
- Verify that the loan’s legal setup complies with governance rules
- Prepare loans ready for drawdown before hand over
- Regularly report to senior management on the performance of the team
The ideal individual for this role must have previous or current completions experience within the mortgage, specialist property finance or commercial real estate lending sectors.
Prior or current managerial experience is preferred; however, our client would also be willing to consider someone who is senior or highly experienced within property finance completions, who feels ready to take that 'step up’ to their first or next leadership role.
You will demonstrate an excellent attention to detail and an audit mindset. You will lead from the front in this role, balancing the need to take key strategic and high-level decisions, with the requirements to support front line delivery, especially with larger, or more complex cases.
You will be a natural leader who can inspire, lead and grow a completions team in a fast paced and growing environment.
This role requires someone who is proactive, comfortable spinning multiple plates and quick to spot and address opportunities or issues. You will perform under pressure of deadlines and be an outstanding communicator in all aspects.
On Offer
Our client is ideally looking to pay between £70k - £110k for the ideal individual, relevant to experience. This allows for those with us without managerial experience to be considered. Higher offers may well be considered, for exceptional direct experience. This role will also be complemented by access to two favourable bonus structures that will allow you to significantly increase OTE year on year.

This role will be based in the lenders amazing London offices due to the high levels of leadership and collaboration required for this role.
